Prince

*As news of his averted house remodeling lawsuit was preparing to hit the streets early Tuesday, Prince, unfazed, showed up unexpectedly at Tower Records in Hollywood and brought Sheila E along with him to perform a surprise set for fans.

Sporting a white top hat and jacket, the artist took the stage at midnight and performed a set that included such classics as "Let's Go Crazy" and "Purple Rain."

"It was an impromptu decision. He lives in L.A.," explained Serena Gallagher, publicist for Prince's label, Universal Motown Records.

About 500 fanatics who had received special purple wristbands at 10 p.m. were allowed inside of the Sunset Blvd. venue for the rare treat. Lucky audience members were even invited onstage for a dance contest as Prince strummed alongside percussion from Sheila E.
