Dear Advice Chick,

Sometimes I feel like I'm the sorriest man on the planet.  I'm a black 24-year-old heterosexual man who's never had any type of relationship with a woman at all, nor have I ever been intimate with one. I've always had a nervous fear of rejection by the opposite sex, but then I don't believe most African-American women would even give me the time of day anyway.  I'm too embarrassed by my lack of dating and sexual experience to approach seriously one...at times I don't even feel like a man.

Do I even have a chance to turn things around, or am I a lost cause?  Please help.

Advice Chick replies,
You ain’t messing with men, are you? Don’t make me cut ya! If you’re DL’ing or something, you’re right, black women don’t want ya. Listen – as long as you have breath in your pitiful little body you have the potential to IMPROVE your situation! You’ve never dated a black woman but look at you trynna clown. If you are interested in dating other races, do you, but don’t try to cast blame where it may not lie.

Now – you can get experience by being platonic friends with women. Learn how to say, “good morning. Hi. Hello.” Speaking to someone can break the ice and result in a conversation.

Is it your looks and/or hygiene? Cleanliness is next to Godliness. As long as you’re clean, shaven or trimmed up, and well groomed you are ready to meet people. Remember, by simply reading the newspaper daily you will have something to talk about.

Pick up a few magazines, work your wardrobe choices, choose a light fragrance, get a classic jewelry piece, and start meeting people.

If all else fails call an escort service and get a date and serious intimacy in the same night.
