Heavy D

Just like the headline says, this page/board is where you can discuss the stuff that we didn't cover in today's issue. (It's sort of like feedback with a twist) Remember, NO name calling, racial taunting, graphic sex talk and vulgarity in general, PLEASE.

EUR MOTIVATIONAL NOTE

-by Jewel Diamond Taylor

I love the spring time. I love seeing all the colors, flowers in bloom and sunshine.

Enjoying the flowers reminds me of an African saying I included in my book "Success Gems." I often quote this wise saying when I teach and speak because the metaphor of flowers offers great insight. The African saying is --- "Around every flower are insects."

It's clearly a law of nature and life that when something beautiful rises out of darkness, in spite of the weeds and demonstrates it's beauty and aroma -- - the insects will come. In the garden of life you are either an insect, a weed or a flower.

Flowers must have their roots grounded strong in self- esteem, confidence, faith and courage. Flowers need water, sunshine and cultivation to rise. Know that the insects in your life will come to criticize and question you. Stand tall in the light of God. You are beautiful, blessed and unique. Insects will always be around hatin', negative, critical, jealous or intimidated. That's what insects do. Be strong. When the insects show up in your life --- just get a can of insect repellant and bloom anyway!

BLACK HISTORY

May 24, 1910: Walter M. Hard, a young black barber, invents a device which will improve trolley car service enormously. Hard's device makes it almost impossible for the electrical contact on top of a car to slip off the overhead wire. This will eliminate the many wasteful delays trolley car riders now suffer whenever the contact slips and the car stops dead.  (Source: www.BlackFacts.com)
