*When artists want their specials and events done right, they look for someone with talent and soul. Silver Springs, MD native Tia Smith, Founder and CEO of TalentedSol Productions, has for over ten years, been the vital producer/director behind major productions for a load of entertainers including Mariah Carey, Missy Elliot, Brian McKnight, the late Aliyah and numerous others.
Two principles have ignited the trail film veteran blazes. First, she quotes, "I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but He lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in Him, who loved me and gave himself for me" (Gal. 2:20) And secondly in the words of William A. Ward she espouses, "The recipe for success is to study while others are sleeping, work while others are loafing, prepare while others are playing, dream while others are wishing." This devotion to God and hard work found in those words are the basis for the success of her company.
Before venturing out to become a CEO, Tia gained work as co-creator of "Lift Every Voice" and served as former Senior Producer of "Bobby Jones Gospel," the longest running program on cable television. At 26 years old, she became BET Networks youngest music director. She was a pair of eyes behind the camera at the Stellar Awards, Dove Awards, Gospel Superfest, Kings Dominion's Gospel Explosions, and the Word Network's "Heavenly Sent with PM Wynn." Her creativity has been seen by thousands. And that is just in the Gospel industry.
As a television, film and video production company, Brooklyn, NY based TalentedSol Productions has also worked with such clients as MTV Networks, VH-1, Coca Cola, Lifetime Television, The Department of Film-NY, One Alliance Entertainment, and The Firm Advertising Agency.
The accomplished 34-year-old has been featured in Charisma Magazine, Voices of Inspiration Devotional, Gospel Today Magazine, Precious Times Magazine, Black Filmmaker Magazine, and Directors Uncut. Driven by great stories an fresh ideas, most recently, Smith was tapped to document a vaccine clinical trial conducted in Africa, an undertaking funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
In addition to a sense of focus and self-assurance, Smith says the ingredients in her recipe to success are Kingdom Living, wisdom, humility, uniqueness and talent.
When asked how she honors God with the work she does Tia responded, "By dedicating each decision and project to Him...bottom line. There is a spirit of excellence, integrity, and creativity that I try to exude into every aspect of our business. We also don't have a problem being different in our approach to any given show element, and/or program idea. It is that trailblazing spirit, exemplified by Christ, that we pattern ourselves after--making us unique and highly sought after."
Filled with passion for her productions, this woman in motion would like to be remembered as someone who "lived, loved and laughed!"
