*Some of Tupac Shakur’s ashes have already been scattered in the Pacific Ocean and Malcolm X Square in New York. Soon, part of his remains will rest in a third location of great significance for the late M.C.
In September, Shakur’s family will fly to South Africa to record a track with local rap sensation, Zola. During their visit, a portion of Pac’s ashes will be scattered in the township of Soweto.
A spokesperson for the Tupac Foundation said the location was chosen because it played a big part in the struggle of black South Africans against apartheid.
Meanwhile, the track, which also includes Snoop Dogg, is to be included on a CD commemorating the upcoming 10th anniversary of Tupac’s death on Sept. 13. Zola, whose birth name is Bonginkosi Dlamini, also served as Snoop’s opening act during the rapper’s recent tour in South Africa.
