Beyonce

*Singer-actress Beyonce has won a court battle against a former business associate who claimed the singer cut him out of a lucrative fashion deal.

Greg Walker had sued the Grammy winner for lack of payment on a $15 million licensing deal he brokered with a clothing line.

However, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Herman Kahn found that Walker, the CEO of Icon Entertainment, never had a valid contract with Beyoncé and her mother, Tina Knowles, reports the New York Daily News.

Walker says he was paid $25,000 for his services by Tina Knowles, but Beyoncé never paid him a dime after he set her up with endorsement deals in 2003. Walker also claims that he lined up a deal that led to the creation of Beyoncé's clothing line, House of Dereon, in 2004.

In other Beyonce news, BET is promoting tomorrow’s re-release of her “B’Day” album with a two-part special that began last weekend and will end tonight. Titled “B’Day The Upgrade,” the program features  a total of 13 never before seen videos, behind-the-scenes footage, and an exclusive interview with the singer.

Beyonce’s dad Mathew Knowles and Music World Entertainment will toast the “B’Day” re-release in their hometown of Houston today with a 1 p.m. VIP brunch at House of Dereon Media Center (1505 Hadley St.). The event will serve as a sneak preview of the album, including the unveiling of five new songs and new videos.

In an interview with People En Espanol about the enhanced “B’Day” CD, Beyonce explains why she recorded Spanish versions of the album’s six new songs.

"A lot of my fans are Hispanic," she says, "and they've always told me, 'You should sing something in Spanish,' but I don't speak Spanish at all. I took it in school [so] I thought, let me give this a try."

Despite singing flawlessly in Spanish, Beyonce says she is still unable to hold a proper conversation in the language.

"I did these songs phonetically, sentence by sentence, and I spent a lot of time ... making sure it was perfect, because I didn't want to disrespect the language, because it's so beautiful," says the former Destiny’s Child singer, 25. "I just feel like I have to learn Spanish because I can sing it – I just can't speak it."
