*After witnesses told The New York Post they spotted actor Tracy Morgan taking swigs of Vodka by the bottle last weekend in Las Vegas despite wearing a court-ordered alcohol monitor, the paper contacted the device-makers to get the real deal.
As previously reported, the “30 Rock” star was at the nightclub Room Service in Vegas when witnesses claimed he was drinking shots of Vodka throughout the night, eventually swigging directly from the bottle and ripping off his shirt.
The actor, who has two drunk-driving convictions, was fitted with a SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor) ankle bracelet on May 25 after accepting a plea deal. If Morgan was indeed imbibing, the apparatus would’ve picked up on his increased alcohol levels and alerted officials.
Morgan's lawyer, Blair Berk, put Page Six on the phone with Ron Pence, director of Vigilnet, the company that operates the satellite monitoring system, to confirm that Morgan has been behaving.
Morgan's other lawyer, Gerry Lefcourt, said the actor was in Las Vegas "pursuant to a contract. Tracy goes around to schools and tells students how stupid it is to drink and drive," Lefcourt explained. "Whatever he was drinking, it wasn't alcohol."
