*A judge ruled in favor of Mariah Carey last week in a copyright-infringement lawsuit over the track, "It's Like That," from her multi-platinum 2004 album, "The Emancipation of Mimi."
Singer Rachelle Chafir claimed the hit copied key portions of her track "Sexy," and that Carey had access to the song because it was available on a Web site, reports MTV.
However, U.S. District Court Judge Kimba Wood said Chafir was unable to prove that Carey or her producers lifted the material or had even visited the Web site. Wood also said the songs were not "strikingly similar" enough to be considered infringement. With "no genuine issues of material fact," Wood closed the case.
"It was the right decision," Carey's lawyer Ilene Farkas told MTV News. "The record was clear in this case."
