*The New York Police Dept. is dealing with racism charges after two white officers were allegedly spotted driving through a Harlem neighborhood with the head of a black doll on their car's antenna.
State Sen. Bill Perkins says he was at a restaurant Tuesday when neighborhood residents noticed the head on the unmarked police car, reports the Associated Press. He says one resident attempted to photograph the head but a plainclothes officer removed it and threw it in the car's trunk.
Perkins called the incident "another display of racism" by police. But the officers reportedly said they were unaware the head was on the antenna until a pedestrian pointed it out. They say it was discarded it immediately.
The NYPD says it's looking for surveillance video that may show someone placing the head on the car's rear radio antenna while the officers were inside a school.
