O.J. Simpson

*The family of murder victim Nicole Brown Simpson issued a statement calling for privacy following Friday's conviction of her ex-husband O.J. Simpson, who was found guilty of armed robbery and faces life in prison.

"Our family would like to thank everyone across the country for their thoughts and prayers as we work through many mixed emotions," said the Brown family. "Our focus is on the children Sydney and Justin, whom we deeply love and cherish, and ask for the understanding of privacy at this time."

On Oct. 3, 1995 Simpson, now 61, was acquitted of the murders of Brown and her friend, Ronald Goldman. Later, a civil jury held him liable for the killings in a wrongful-death lawsuit.

Also on Saturday, Ron Goldman's father, Fred Goldman, told CNN of the guilty verdict: "We're absolutely thrilled to see that the potential is that he could spend the rest of his life in jail where the scumbag belongs."

The Las Vegas jury reached its verdict after about 13 hours of deliberations on Friday. O.J. and co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart were found guilty on 12 charges, including armed robbery and kidnapping.

Defense attorney Yale Galanter spoke with Simpson after the verdict and said the former football star was "extremely upset, extremely emotional." Galanter said he will file a motion for a new trial and appeal the case.

Simpson faces the prospect of life in prison for the convictions. Clark County District Judge Jackie Glass set sentencing for December 5.

*Meanwhile, as unfortunate as his situation is,  folks have already started clowning the Juice. Saturday night EUR's Lee Bailey caught up with Tavis Smiley at his Youth Leadership event, and KJLH morning man Guy Black, to discuss the conviction. However, it didn't take long before the jokes began:
