Tyscot Records’ Damita will be featured in a 30-minute Christmas Television special this Saturday, December 6th at 6:00 p.m. EST on The Gospel Music Channel (GMC). Her number one music video, “No Looking Back,” will also be featured on the show. The following day, Sunday, December 7th, Damita will perform “O Holy Night” during a world premiere on GMC.
Damita was also selected as GMC's Listen Up! artist for October/November. Listen Up! is the channel’s new multiplatform promotional campaign highlighting new and emerging Gospel/Christian recording artists who are on the verge of becoming break-out stars.
Her latest album, “No Looking Back,” debuted on Billboard’s Top Gospel Album Chart earlier this year. The 14-track album has something for everyone, from her title track to the love ballad “I Will Trust” and her own rendition of “I Won’t Complain.” The album is a fusion of Gospel, with an R&B feel and Caribbean vibe guaranteed to uplift and motivate.
“I went a little more youthful on this release because I think that our young people really need this right now. We really need to get their attention. They are faced with so much temptation and if we don’t do something that makes them feel special, that moves and motives them, somebody else will.” says Damita.
