*After four seasons, the cell door has slammed shut for good on Fox's "Prison Break."
The show, starring Wentworth Miller as an escaped convict on the lam, "had a hell of a run, but the run has ended," Fox president Kevin Reilly told reporters Tuesday at the TV Critics Press Tour. "This will be the last year of the show."
According to Reilly, the decision to axe the drama was made from a creative standpoint. "The show has just played out. You get to a point creatively where you feel all the stories have been told, and you want to end strong and not gimp out in the end of the season," said Reilly.
Fox will air the four remaining episodes, and are contemplating a "couple more" hours to complete the series – possibly to be presented as a TV movie, which Fox did with "24" earlier in the season as "24: Redemption."
"They have a really cool ending, actually," said Reilly. "I know where they end, and it's a hell of an idea."
