GOSPEL TODAY MAGAZINE GOES DIGITAL: America’s number one Christian lifestyle magazine suspends printing.

February 23, 2009

Gospel Today (GT) magazine founder, Dr. Teresa Hairston has announced that it is now going "digital." The enhanced magazine will suspend printing immediately and will offer online content and subscriptions only.

"Our goal is to share news, information, products and services regarding the urban Christian community with the "global community." Hairston added, "The world is moving to (the) Internet, and many of our advertisers and subscribers are already there."

"The Magazine Publishers of America has tallied up a record 62 new digital initiatives from magazine publishers. Coming amid a raft of announcements for specific new projects, the overall count underscores the migration of magazine brands to more digital distribution." writes" Erik Sass in the Media Daily News.

Gospel Today plans an increased website, to include subscriptions to GospelToday.com e-mag that will replace the print component

Dr. Hairston stated, "This step represents the future of our community. It's a global connection ... because we will now be able to reach the world!"

The new editor for the new e-mag is Bishop Andy C. Lewter, a pastor and early proponent of online strategies for the faith community. Hairston is working in conjunction with KMS Web Designers to make the site extremely user-friendly.

The new GT site will be very unique in its offering ... it will be a place where people can chat, exchange ideas and get inspiration. But it will be a strong center of commerce. The new www.GospelToday.com site will offer downloadable books, social networking, CDs, and videos at nominal prices.
