*The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) hopes that the booking of Chaka Khan will help broaden its appeal and bring in concert-goers for its 2005-2006 season. According to the Baltimore Business Journal, the symphony is banking on Khan and other contemporary musicians to boost the 90-year-old orchestra's visibility among the general public. While symphony purists believe the BSO’s new moves will compromise its artistic integrity, BSO officials say there are enough chamber orchestra concerts and other programs to satisfy its core audience. *XXL Magazine has released a special edition entitled, “XXL Presents Shade 45,” a one-shot magazine focusing on Eminem and his new radio channel, Shade 45, on Sirius Satellite Radio.
