*In her keynote address to folks at the Human Rights Campaign's Annual Pacific Northwest Dinner in Seattle on Sunday, actress/comedienne Sandra Bernhard took the opportunity to share her opinion of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former First Lady, Barbara Bush. Some 800 guests were in attendance at the event, billed as the nation's largest advocacy group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights. After taking the mike, she proceeded to focus her ire upon the federal government and the Iraq War. She opened her address with an imagined conversation between herself and the Secretary of State. "Sandra, I'm just feeling so isolated," said the comedienne, imitating Rice. "I'm gay, I'm black, I'm a woman." Bernhard next unleashed on Dubya’s mother Barbara Bush and her recent statement that the Hurricane Katrina victims housed at the Houston Astrodome are better off now because they were already underprivileged. "Barbara Bush has her finger on the pulse of America. I'm so glad she's back and more compassionate than ever," Sandra said. "That's right, of course people just sat around New Orleans, boring, uninspired, soulless New Orleans, and dreamed of someday relocating to the Astrodome. 'Oh, dear lord, if only I could leave my unhappy existence and head on up to wonderful Houston and live with my friends side by side in a spacious football stadium, my life would be so much richer and complete.'" Previous speakers at the annual dinner have included Howard Dean, former President Bill Clinton, Rev. Jesse Jackson and last year's keynote speaker, comedienne Lily Tomlin. Proceeds benefit the Human Rights Campaign's local and national efforts to promote equal rights. ------------------------------
