*After missing his scheduled Sept. 25 court date, DMX graced the Bronx courtroom with his presence on Monday to answer charges of driving with a suspended license stemming from an April 2005 crash. Judge Villegas told the rapper, a.k.a. Earl Simmons, that if he pleaded guilty to the charges, he would be given the minimum sentence of a weekend in jail and a $1,000 fine. In the April incident, DMX was driving on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx when he hit a vehicle which then ran into a police car. X has maintained that he was driving with a suspended license because his wife was in labor and he had to rush her to the hospital, but prosecutors said the child was born three days later. Meanwhile, the driver of the car DMX initially struck was treated for minor injuries and released. "This court is wearing me down," the rapper told the New York Post as he was leaving the court Monday. "I'm just tired." ---------------------------------
