*Filmmaker George Lucas has donated $1 million toward efforts to build a memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the National Mall in Washington. ''The ideals and principles for which Dr. King fought have never been forgotten and are as relevant today as they were 40 years ago,'' Lucas said in a statement, adding that a memorial allows King's message to endure through future generations.  The “Star Wars” director will also serve as a co-host Nov. 19 at the Dream Dinner in San Francisco to raise funds and heighten visibility for the MLK National Memorial. More than $40 million has been raised so far, with $100 million needed to finish the project, organizers said.

*The addition of John Leguizamo to the cast of NBC's "ER" gave the show its first win in two weeks over CBS’ "Without a Trace" among adults 18-49.  "Trace" had notched a milestone this season by beating NBC’s medical drama in the coveted 18-49 demo for the first time earlier this month, and then again last week. But "ER" returned to its usual dominance of the demo with 14.7 million viewers. "Trace," as usual, led in total viewers with 19.8 million.

*In an interview with Jane magazine, Nicole Richie said that even she doesn’t know how the upcoming season of her show “The Simple Life” will be filmed with her ex-friend, Paris Hilton. "Nobody knows what the concept is right now – we're just signed on to do it," says Richie, who makes her film debut in “Kids in America,” which opened Friday. The daughter of Lionel Richie also said that her dramatic weight loss in recent months is not the result of an eating disorder, as the rumor mill has suggested.  "Nothing people say really bothers me, but that bothers me because I wouldn’t want somebody younger than me, someone who looks up to me, to believe it," she says.
