       *Flanked by his attorney, former “Yo! MTV Raps” co-host Ed Lover turned himself in to authorities early Friday on charges that he allegedly socked a 26-year-old woman in the face at New York City’s Duvet nightclub.      

       Police say Lover’s girlfriend got into an argument with another woman at about 1:30 a.m. on the morning of Dec. 12. The 42-year-old Lover – at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, according to SOHH.com – allegedly squeezed past a bouncer, leapt over a barrier and clocked the woman.       

       A lawyer for the alleged victim said that, "the club was much more concerned about him. They didn't try to stop him. They didn't hold him. They didn't call 911."      

       Management for the club, however, said police were not called because the alleged victim said that she didn't want to press charges.
