WHITNEY HOUSTON TO PERFORM AT OLYMPICS: Singer to mark long-awaited return in gig at Medals Plaza.

*Whitney Houston – star of last summer’s must-see reality show “Being Bobby Brown” – returns to the stage as one of the performers booked to play the Olympic Village's Medals Plaza at the Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy.

Houston and other performers – including Duran Duran, Avril Lavigne and Lou Reed – will perform at the venue after each night's awards ceremony. The free shows take place in Piazza Castello, a courtyard directly in front of the city's Royal Palace.

Houston’s set is scheduled for Sunday (Feb. 19). Duran Duran will play tomorrow (Feb. 16), Jamiroquai (Feb. 17), Anastacia (Feb. 18), Lavigne (Feb. 21), Ricky Martin (Feb. 22) and Reed (Feb. 23).

The nightly events are designed to enhance the celebration of the athletes who earned victories on the snow and ice.
