      *Mariah Carey, Madonna and Kanye West are among the celebs due to appear at MTV's 4th annual TRL Awards, scheduled to air on the network Feb. 25. Chris Brown will perform at the ceremony honoring some of TRL’s best artists and guest appearances during the past year. Madonna will be given a lifetime achievement honor, while U2’s Bono will receive the most inspired artist award. TRL's Damien Fahey, Vanessa Minnillo and Susie Castillo will host the event, which will feature an interview with Christina Aguilera about her upcoming album. Carey is nominated for TRL’s first lady award, while West, Eminem and 50 Cent will vie for man of the year. Viewers will determine the winners of nine categories through balloting on the MTV Web site.

       *Bail has been set at $75,000 for rapper Don P. of the southern rap group Trillville. The artist, whose real name is Donnell Prince, was arrested Jan. 30 on charges that he raped a 16-year-old girl at a Dec. 16th party held in a Lithonia, GA apartment. After hearing several hours of testimony last week, Dekalb Senior Superior Court Judge William McMurray set the bond, with conditions stipulating that Prince may not contact the young woman or leave the country.

       *Fat Joe has reportedly dissed Nas for having patched things up with former rival, Jay-Z.  According to Contact Music, Joey Crack thinks God’s Son has gone soft after announcing his signing to Def Jam, run by Jay. Joe said: "I used to look up to Nas a lot. And I don't even really respect what he did. How do you become a friend to a person who disrespects your baby's mother? It's too much ugliness. I almost died, as a hip hop fan, when I heard they were together."

       *The Elton John AIDS Foundation announced today that Grammy Award-winning artist John Legend will perform at the 14th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) Oscar After-Party on Sunday, March 5 at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. The event will be co-hosted by John and David Furnish and is co-sponsored by Audi, Chopard and VH1. Legend will perform songs from his Sony Urban Music/GOOD Music album “Get Lifted.” Elton John said in a statement: “I have been a huge fan of John's since I first heard his album 'Get Lifted.’ I am so thrilled that he won three Grammy's last week and even more thrilled that he will be playing at our Oscar Party."

       *Juvenile’s new album “Reality Check” will feature groundbreaking software that will give consumers the ability to make their own custom ringtones from any section of any song on the album. The CD will include the UrTone player, developed by ID Interactive Inc., which will allow exclusive access to create and purchase personalized ringtones. Due in stores on March 7th, "Reality Check" is the first U.S.-released album and first hip-hop album to feature this technology.        *Legendary “Soul Man,” Sam Moore, is currently in the studio with producer Randy Jackson putting the wraps on “Sam Moore: Overnight Sensational,” his second solo project and follow-up to 2002’s “Plenty Good Lovin’.” The CD, due May 16 via Rhino Records, features songs by such composers as Garth Brooks, Diane Warren, Paul Carrack, Conway Twitty, Bobby Womack and Ahmet Ertegun, the founder of Atlantic Records who was responsible for Moore’s early fame. Producer Jackson describes Moore as “THE true original,” adding, “The phone has been ringing off the hook from artists wanting to get involved with this project; everyone wants to sing with Sam. The word is out, man. Check out this record.”
