NAOMI CAMPBELL SUES ‘KING OF BOTOX’: Model doesn’t appreciate him taking credit for her smooth complexion.(March 8, 2006)
*Supermodel Naomi Campbell is suing a cosmetic surgeon known as “The King of Botox” for using her as a celebrity endorser in two magazine ads without permission. Campbell, 35, came across her pictures in ads promoting Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh’s Botox services in Hello! Magazine, reports London’s Daily Mail newspaper. The text in the ad says Campbell “owes her flawless complexion to Dr. Sebagh.’ Lawyers for the runway diva reportedly went to the High Court on Monday (March 6) to file the case against Sebagh, whose pioneering use of Botox in the early 1990s led to his “King of Botox” nickname. Campbell’s lawyers issued an application for a “pre-action disclosure” in the Queen's Bench division of the Royal Courts of Justice, in Central London, which means Dr. Sebagh could be forced to come up with evidence relating to the case before a claim is actually issued. Campbell’s lawyers said in a statement: "She does not endorse Mr. Sebagh's products. We are trying to find out how her name came to be connected to him." In past interviews, Campbell has denied having cosmetic surgery, stating, "I'm not against plastic surgery, especially if I had an accident, but I wouldn't do it now. I am living in hope that I have inherited skin as good as my grandmother's." Speak Out
