PAUL PORTER: Radio, America's Corporate Child Predator

(March 14, 2006)

America has a problem. Radio has stepped to another new low. Bubba Sparxx's top 20 single "Ms New Booty" proves that payola is a national problem. Station after station continues to play Virgin Record's Rap star and watch it's pornographic links rise to number one on Billboards chart.

Children, tweens and teens continue to make the song title one of the most watched sites. Complete with links to "Girls Gone Wild" and parent company Virgin Records, not a soul in radio has said no.

Radio and records are the new "Hustle and Flow."  The only difference is that the government fails to arrest these corporate child predators. The internet has pornographic sites, now radio directs children straight to it.

Log onto www.msnewbooty.com and take a look and see why radio has lost it's mind. Bubba Sparkxx's "Ms. New Booty" is another conduit to sex, pornography and misogyny aimed at children. You just might find a daughter, sister, niece or any other child's booty for all to see.

Take action let the FCC Chairman Martin know that this is not what radio should sound like. Freedom of speech is one thing, pornography is pornography.  Give a child a chance.

Email William.Davenport@FCC.gov.  It's is time for action!
