A new album from Richie Spice is expected later this year. His most recent album Spice in Your Life was released in 2004. * Buju Banton nominated for two International Reggae and World Music Awards Last year was a sort of a major comeback for dancehall deejay Buju Banton. Banton who had experienced a lull in his more than decade long career, raced back onto the scene with hits such as Ride This and Mi Too Bad. It came as no surprise that he has secured nominations in the 25th staging of the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
Banton was nominated in the categories Best DJ/ Rapper (Male) and the Haile Selassie Award for Spiritual Service through Music.
Buju, who is currently putting the finishing touches on his new dancehall album, commented on the nominations. “It is truly a blessing to recognized for my works. I and I look forward to bringing the fans more music and more love in 2006.”
The 25th Anniversary International Reggae & World Music Awards will be held on Saturday May 6th at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. * BITS AND PIECES
