ICE CUBE TO SPREAD ‘LAUGH’ ACROSS COUNTRY: Rapper prepares 22-city tour to promote new album, ‘Laugh Now, Cry Later.’(March 21, 2006)
*Rapper/actor/producer Ice Cube will step away from the film and television projects this spring to travel the country in support of his new album, “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” due June 6 via his own label, Lench Mob Records. The former NWA member will begin a 22-date tour behind his seventh solo album on April 20 in Anaheim, CA. The trek will make a complete circle around the U.S. before wrapping June 3 in Hollywood. “Laugh Now, Cry Later” features production from Scott Storch, Swizz Beatz and Lil' Jon, and includes a guest appearance from Snoop Dogg. The Storch-produced first single, "Why We Thugs," delves into social commentary about weapons, narcotics, politics and the ghettos of America, according to a press release. Buzz has been surrounding the album track "Chrome and Paint," the video for which, according to a press release, blends low-riders and the West Coast lifestyle.
