ISAAC HAYES IS GONE, BUT
CHEF REMAINS ON 'SOUTH
PARK': Wednesday's season
premiere has kids noticing
'something different'
upon his return.

    *Looks like "South Park" creators
Trey Parker and Matt Stone haven't
wasted any time capitalizing on the
hot mess cooked up by the voice
of Chef.
       The season premiere episode
on Wednesday (March 22) is titled "The
Return of Chef!" despite the departure
of its voice actor Isaac Hayes, who
left last week over issues with the
show's flippant view of religion.
      There was no mention of
Hayes in a press release regarding the
episode, in which Chef  returns to South
Park in a "triumphant homecoming,"
only to have the boys notice that
"something about Chef seems different."
Hayes, the voice of Chef since
the show's 1997 debut, criticized
"South Park's" disrespectful attitude
toward religion in a statement
announcing his departure. The two
creators fired back with a press release
claiming Hayes never had a problem
with the program's satirical look at
Christianity, Islam and Judaism, and
only took issue when his religion,
Scientology, became the focus of
an episode last season called
"Trapped
      The controversy surrounding
the episode prompted Comedy Central
to pull its scheduled repeat, and rumors
have suggested that the world's most
famous Scientologist, Tom Cruise, was
behind the network's decision after
refusing to promote his upcoming film
"Mission: Impossible 3" if the episode
aired again. Paramount, which is
releasing the movie, and Comedy
Central are both under Viacom
ownership.
Cruise's people say the rumor is
untrue, and Comedy Central says it
pulled the episode so that it could
honor Hayes' departure with two shows
featuring Chef in the main storyline.

SPIKE LEE BEGS TO DIFFER WITH
GEORGE CLOONEY: Director says
actor was way off with Hattie McDaniel
reference in Oscar speech.

*Spike Lee has gone on another tear,
this time with a bulls eye on
his boy, George Clooney.
      While accepting the Academy
Award for Best Supporting Actor earlier
this month, Clooney took issue with a
dig in Jon Stewart's opening monologue
that suggested Hollywood, and its rich
and famous inhabitants, are grossly
out of touch with the rest of the world.
In an attempt to protest Stewart's
remark, the "Syriana" star cited the
Academy's "forward thinking" in
awarding a Best Supporting Actress
Oscar to Hattie McDaniel in 1933 for
"Gone With the Wind."
To use that as an example of how
progressive Hollywood is is
ridiculous," Lee said to femalefirst.co.uk.
"Hattie McDaniel played Mammy in
'Gone With the Wind.' That film was
basically saying that the wrong side won
the Civil War and that black people
should still be enslaved.
       "C'mon! I like George a lot. I'm
not hating on him. But I don't think
he really thought it out.  How many
years was it between Hattie McDaniel
and Halle Berry (winning an acting
Oscar)? Sixty-some-odd? C'mon!"

MIJAC AND 50 CENT ON THE SAME
TRACK?: G-Unit's DJ Whoo Kid met up
with the King of Pop in Bahrain to discuss
the idea.

       *Michael Jackson may not
have a dollar to spare after paying
his employees back wages and various
fees to the government, but according to
new reports, he'll at least have 50 Cent.
      According to MTV, G-Unit's DJ
Whoo Kid recently kicked it with
Jackson at his Bahrain spot to discuss
a possible duet between the two
superstars. Whoo Kid even gave
Jackson a tape of the proposed track
so that the singer could take a listen
before making a final decision.
       "I gave Michael some music,"
Whoo Kid told MTV. "I'm trying to get
him to do a song with 50. It will be
like the Jackson Two or something."

'GREY'S ANATOMY' CREATOR PICKS
UP ANOTHER HONOR: Shonda Rhimes
nabs TV Land's 'Future Classic' Award.

       *ABC's critically-acclaimed hit
drama, "Grey's Anatomy," was awarded
this year's TV Land Future Classic Award
tonight at the TV Land Awards: A
Celebration of Classic TV in
Santa Monica, CA.
       Creator and executive producer
Shonda Rhimes, along with the cast of
"Grey's Anatomy," accepted the honor
on behalf of the show.
"We are honored that TV Land
has chosen Grey's Anatomy as their
Future Classic Award recipient," stated
Rhimes. "TV Land has quickly
established itself as a great home for
the most loved series to air on
television. As we continue to build upon
a great start to 'Grey's Anatomy,'
we are thrilled to be honored by this
institution and look forward to one
day joining their elite line up of fantastic
television shows."
       The award recognizes the one
new show from the past calendar year
which best exemplifies the qualities of
an emerging television phenomenon
that will endure for years to come.
The ceremony will air on TV
Land and simulcasts on Nick at Nite on
Wednesday, March 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

CHRISTINA MILIAN VS. NICK
CANNON: Mess between ex-lovers
appears in track on Milian's upcoming
album.

*A friend of Nick Cannon is venting
frustration over a track written about
the singer/actor/producer on an
upcoming album by his ex-girlfriend,
Christina Milian.
       The track in question, "Who's
Gonna Ride," appears on Milian's
forthcoming CD "So Amazin'," due
April 25.  The song mentions details of
their on-and-off again relationship that
began on the set of their 2003 film
"Love Don't Cost A Thing" and ended
last summer.
       "(Christina's) leveraging his success
and using his name for press," Cannon's
friend told the New York Daily News.
"No one cares about Christina
Milian. She's not Beyonce."
      According to the newspaper,
Christina ended their relationship after
she broke into Nick's T-Mobile account
and spotted flirtatious e-mails from
other women. The singer/actress is now
reportedly dating Dre of the
production duo Cool & Dre.
       Her new boyfriend produced "So
Amazin'," prompting Nick's friend to
tell the Daily News, "If you're in a
relationship with a new guy, why are
you talking about Nick? Because her
boyfriend knows it's good PR for her."

MAN WHO BEAT AND ROBBED
ROSA PARKS APOLOGIZES: Joseph
Skipper said he hopes to one day earn
redemption.

*"I will go down in history as the
man who robbed Rosa Parks,"
lamented 40-year-old Joseph Skipper,
who blamed a severe drug addiction on
his decision in 1994 to break into the
Detroit home of Rosa Parks, beat her
and steal her $53 in cash.
    Skipper pleaded guilty at his
trial and apologized for taking
advantage of our national treasure,
all the while hoping that he could one
day sit face to face with Parks to
express the extent of his remorse and
regret. But those hopes were dashed
last Oct. 24 when Parks died at the
age of 92.
"I'm sorry that she died. I was
hoping to get out in time to tell
her I was sorry. I have to draw strength
from God," Skipper told The Detroit
News in a prison interview published
Sunday.
      After the attack, Parks was
treated at a hospital and moved
into a high-rise apartment building.
       Skipper, currently serving an
eight-to 15-year sentence at the Alger
Maximum Correctional Facility in
Michigan's Upper Peninsula, said he
cried at the news of Parks' death, and
dreams of one day earning redemption.

ICE CUBE TO SPREAD 'LAUGH'
ACROSS COUNTRY: Rapper prepares
22-city tour to promote new album,
'Laugh Now, Cry Later.'

    *Rapper/actor/producer Ice Cube
will step away from the film and
television projects this spring to travel

    "Laugh Now, Cry Later" features

Storch-produced first single, "Why We
Thugs," delves into social commentary
about weapons, narcotics, politics and
the ghettos of America, according to

FILM/TV BITS: Hart on CBS; Longoria's
grandma and J-Lo film; BET's 'Runway';
VH1's 'Rock Hall'; 'Good Times' honored;
'Brokeback' DVD; 'Idlewild' holdup.

*Kevin Hart has joined the CBS
comedy pilot "The Weekend," starring
as one of three male friends whose social
lives revolve around Saturdays and
Sundays. The actor was most recently
seen on Showtime's "Barbershop" series,
but will go down in history as the man
who took top billing in the feature
film, "Soul Plane."

*In the new issue of Allure magazine,
Eva Longoria says her grandmother has no
idea that she's dating a black man, and
according to her mother, would not approve
of the relationship if she ever found out.  The
"Desperate Housewives" star wanted to
send Grandma a calendar of her man's
NBA team, the San Antonio Spurs, but
then her mother stepped in and advised
against it. "She said, 'You can't give
Grandma a calendar. She doesn't know
Tony's black.' I said, 'We'll just tell her
he's French.'"

       *Longoria, meanwhile, is rumored
to have joined an as-yet-untitled
film written by Jennifer Lopez. According
to Sky News Showbiz, the stars
will play sisters, both Hollywood stars,
who have a falling out and begin
trashing each other in the press. Cameras
are scheduled to begin rolling in
September.

       *On Thursday (March 23) at 9 p.m.,
BET will premiere the hour-long
event "Rip the Runway," hosted by LL
Cool J, Gabrielle Union and comedian
Katt Williams.  The show, taped in New
York City, features urban, high-end,
plus size, sports and swimwear collections
from designers Brand Jordan, Todd
Smith, G-Unit, Enyce, Stephen Burrows,
Bathhouse by Bernard Moore, Roger
Gary presents Aqua Couture, Qristy
Designs, Monif C., Courtney Washington,
Steve Harvey and even the latest dental
line "grillz" from Paul Wall.
Working the catwalk will be singer Mya,
NFL star Terrell Owens, supermodel
Omahyra, "America's Next Top Model"
discovery Toccara and BET's own Big
Tigger and Julissa.

*The 2006 Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame Induction Ceremony will
premiere on VH1 tonight (March 21)
at 9 p.m. The induction of Miles Davis
during last week's ceremony included
a musical tribute from jazz great
Herbie Hancock. The artist put together
an all star jazz band with Mike
Stern, Marcus Miller, Buster Williams,
Jack DeJohnette, Wallace Roney and
Paul Shaffer to perform a medley of
Miles Davis classics "In A Silent Way,"
"Tutu" and "Jean Pierre."

      *"Good Times" was honored at
the fourth annual TV Land Awards: A
Celebration of Classic TV Sunday night
(March 19) with the network's Impact
Award, given to a program that offered
both entertainment and enlightenment,
always striving for both humor and
humanity, with comedy that reflected
reality. Quentin Tarantino presented this
award to John Amos, Jimmy "JJ"
Walker, Ja'net Dubois, BernNadette
Stanis, Johnny Brown and Ralph Carter.
TV Land awarded its "TV's Greatest
Music Moment" to Diana Ross for her
Concert in Central Park. The ceremony
will air on TV Land Wednesday, March
22 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET/PT.

*See what all the fuss is about
on April 4, when the DVD of
"Brokeback Mountain" finally arrives
in stores. Special features on the
$29.98 disc include a profile of Oscar-
winning director Ang Lee and
interviews with Oscar-winning
screenwriters Larry McMurtry and
Diana Ossana. Oscar-nominated stars
Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal
also discuss the rodeo and wrangling
training they had to prepare for their roles
as the amorous cowboys.

*So what's the hold up with
OutKast's new musical film "Idlewild?"
Big Boi of the group is blaming the
delay on the music. "What happened
was it usually takes me and Dre a couple
of years to get the music right. When
we first started the movie we didn't
really have a whole lot of the music
done. And a lot of the music came
after the movie. We had a couple of
songs but now whether to rush it and
to put out something not complete. We
chose to wait." The film, starring the rap
duo as struggling performers, is now
due in theaters on Aug. 25.

SPORTS BITS: Terrell Owens rap disses
Eagles; John Rocker dating a black woman.

    *Dallas Cowboys wide receiver
Terrell Owens must've really dug what
actor Page Kennedy did after allegations
of sexual misconduct led to his
dismissal from "Desperate Housewives."
Like the budding TV star, T.O. has
also chosen to vent frustration at his
accusers through a rap posted on his
own Web site (www.terrellowens.com).
In the song, Owens airs out his
old team, the Philadelphia Eagles,
stating: "When it comes to this game
I'm the best in the field/Some said I
was gonna sign just a one year deal/
But I got what I wanted up front, 10
mil/Changed the rules of the game
so now how you feel?"
The athlete also waves in Philly's
face his three-year contract
signed with the Cowboys, stating: "I
got a brand new team/I am a Cowboy
now/No more black and green/To
the haters that said I'm not going to
get my money/I'm laughing in your
face ha ha that's funny."
    *Remember John Rocker? The
former Atlanta Braves pitcher whose
racism and bigotry was exposed in
a 1999 Sports Illustrated article?
According to the New York Post,
his latest arm piece is - gasp - African
American.
A spy who saw the couple at an
East Village hotspot told the paper,
"[Rocker] was with a tall, model-esque
black woman. She looked very
familiar, and I heard some guy gawking
at the bar say that she was some kind
of fitness model."
       Rocker's rep confirmed that the
woman holding his hand was fitness
model/freelance writer Alicia Marie,
who has posed for such magazines as
Muscle & Fitness, Flex, Ironman,
Planet Muscle and Natural Bodybuilding
& Fitness. She also writes freelance
fitness articles for other publications,
according to her Web site.
       Rocker, meanwhile, appears in
the new Spike TV's reality show, "Pros
vs. Joes," in which he stars alongside
fellow retired jocks Jerry Rice and
Dennis Rodman.

Domino's piano to paying rent and
mortgages for Katrina-effected

the hurricane.

       *America's biggest birthday party
just got more exciting as the City
of Philadelphia announced that renowned
actor, producer and music composer,
Clifton Davis, has joined the Sunoco
Welcome America! Festival as its new
executive director.
"Clifton Davis has been a bright
star on the national stage for four
decades. He brings a wealth of
experience and a host of contacts in the
entertainment industry to his new role,"
said Mayor John F. Street. "The
festival will benefit from his expertise
and professional network as it
builds on previous successes, including
last year's concert with Sir Elton
John, and nurture Philadelphia's growing
reputation as one of America's most
exciting cities. My friendship with
Clifton Davis spans 40 years, and I am
confident he has the right blend of
experience, energy and ability to
broaden the appeal of the festival
to a national audience."
       Sunoco Welcome America!
is the nation's largest Independence
celebration, with seven days of family
oriented fun and festivities
including a July 4th parade, concert
and fireworks display. This year's
festival dates are June 28-July 4,
2006.

EUR FEEDBACK (MYfeedback@eurweb.com)

*T. D., Northern Virginia:

"In response to Jacqueline Field's (3/17/06)

feedback, I understand what you are saying and

it would be on point, except for the fact that

WHUR, albeit a university station, does NOT

cater to the young crowd, it caters to the ADULT

listener.  I would say the age range would be from

a mature 30 to 65.  It's only competition is 102.3,

a Radio One station that has Tom Joyner in the

morning and plays hand dancing or stepping

music every 10 minutes.  DC has two other

stations for the younguns: WKYS & WPGC,

who play non-music like 50 cent, Ashanti,

TI and Beyonce 2-3 times an hour.

On WHUR, the music they play that

could be considered 'young' includes Jill

Scott, Leela James, Kem, Mary J., Floetry

and Anthony Hamilton.  You will hear rap

from Parliament's 'Give up the Funk'  if you

hear it played at all. The name of the game

is Old School (starting from the 60s) R&B,

Neo Soul, Gospel, P-funk, some Chuck

Brown and Old School rap, if any.  Steve

Harvey doesn't bring any new music to

the table, and if anything, his programming

dilutes the mix with unfunny humor,

constant talking, and less music.

      In addition, WHUR already has

syndicated programming in the afternoon,

with Michael Baisden, and you know how

he gets down with music.  Therefore we

now have syndicated fare from 6-10am

& 3-7pm. If this continues, we will have

a local radio station with no local flava.

And this, my friends, is not good.

Thanks and Peace to you."

Torrey Hibler, Dallas, TX:

"(I just want to say that) Steve Harvey

is an asset to the Dallas market and he

always will be.  I appreciate everything

he is doing. It is past time for us to have

someone who will stand up and challenge

men and confront our issues as a community.

Keep on Steve; my radio is forever tuned in to you.

PS: I think Jackie Reid ads more flavor

to the show and she is very classy and down

to earth. She's for real.  And Nephew Tommy,

keep doing yo thang, boy!"
