*Actresses Sarah Jones and Phylicia Rashad will join other entertainers at a two-week performance festival in New York to spotlight violence against women and girls.

"Until the Violence Stops: NYC," to be held in June, is the brainchild of V-Day, a nonprofit organization founded by playwright Eve Ensler, author of "The Vagina Monologues."

Jane Fonda, Salma Hayek, Tina Fey, Marlo Thomas, Isabella Rossellini and Gloria Steinem are also scheduled to appear at the event.

Maya Angelou, Anna Deavere Smith and Alice Walker are among the authors contributing works to the festival, which will open on June 12 with a reading at Studio 54 of Ensler's "Necessary Targets," a play about two American women who travel to war-torn Bosnia. It will feature Fonda, Marian Seldes and Shohreh Aghdashloo.
