*A settlement has been reached between Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick and the woman who charged him with giving her a sexually-transmitted disease, his attorney said Monday. "The only comment I've got is the case has been resolved," Vick’s lawyer Lawrence Woodward said. Sonya Elliott, a 26-year-old health care worker, claimed she tested positive for herpes after having unprotected sex with Vick in April 2003. In her complaint, filed in Georgia’s Gwinnett County State Court, she said Vick "apologized profusely" for failing to disclose that he had the disease, which can be treated but not cured. The lawsuit also claimed Vick used the alias "Ron Mexico" when seeking treatment for the disease. *Tiger Woods, in New Zealand for the wedding of his caddie Steve Williams, won the second of two celebrity stock car races held there on Monday. The star golfer was a designated "blocker" in the first race, which means he was tasked with preventing other cars from passing and reaching front-runners on his team. He didn't finish among the leaders in that 12-lap event. But in the second of two celebrity races – organized by the Steve Williams Foundation to raise funds to provide sporting careers for disadvantaged youth – Woods forced his way from the back of the grid to the front for the victory. The day before, both Woods and Williams made New Zealand's highest bungee jump, diving 440 feet from a cable car. Jumpers free-fall for about 8.5 seconds, and the leap is regarded as one of the world's most daunting challenges for adventure tourists. *Dallas Mavericks coach Avery Johnson was honored as the NBA's coach of the year Tuesday after leading the team to a 60-win season in his first full season as coach. "Avery's done a great job with us, preparing us every single night, teaching all the little things over the whole season and really turned the franchise around into a defensive ballclub first," Mavs player Dirk Nowitzki said. "He's done a great job, so he deserves a lot of credit." Johnson replaced Don Nelson as head coach on March 19, 2005. Dallas plays Game 2 of its first-round Western Conference series against Memphis tonight. The Mavericks won the first game. *A lawyer for former USC running back Reggie Bush says the player had no knowledge of an agreement between his parents and San Diego businessman Michael Michaels, the man who owned a $750,000 home the Bush family lived in for the past year. The family -- Bush's mother Denise Griffin, stepfather LaMar Griffin and brother Jovan Griffin – recently moved out of the house after questions over the owner’s intentions arose. "At this point, I'm not going to get into the particulars of the transactions between the family and Mr. Michaels," David Cornwell told ESPN's Joe Schad. "It is inappropriate to presume that the Griffins did anything wrong." Bush said on ESPN's NFL Draft special Monday: "We have nothing to hide. When all is said and done ... everyone will see we have done absolutely nothing wrong." Bush added that his "parents leased a house like any other parent" and the Houston Texans – where he is likely to be drafted Saturday - "should not be concerned at all. Nothing to be worried about."
