*A witness to the fracas that landed Snoop Dogg in a London jail yesterday texted us from the scene of the incident with details.

According to news reports, the rapper and five members of his entourage were arrested at Heathrow Airport Wednesday and charged with "violent disorder and affray" (British for “creating a disturbance”) after they were denied entry into British Airways' first class lounge. Our source in Snoop's inner circle, however, tells a different story.

“They are saying in the news out here [in London] that a riot broke out because we were refused entry into British Airways lounge and that [Snoop’s] security was throwing police officers around like rag dolls, which are all lies,” the source said. “The whole incident was provoked and incited by the Heathrow police who from the time we landed was on us.”

Richard Goodfellow, a spokesman for British Airways, told the Associated Press that Snoop and his crew were denied entry into the lounge because some of the entourage had first class tickets, while others were flying economy class.

"They became very rude and abusive to our staff and we took the decision to offload the party and refuse them travel," Goodfellow told AP. "That sort of behavior will not be tolerated."

The way our source explains it, “We were told by British Airways officials in the first place to go [to the lounge] for our three hour layover, but when we got there, some prejudice old lady saw all these black folks and tripped out. So we left. Next thing, we got five cops following us, then 10, until it grew to like 40 cops with dogs and everything, just following us around as [Snoop] signed autographs and walked to the next gate.

“Then one of the cops pushed Snoop and they all just rushed us, pushing us into a duty free shop where a display with bottles of wine was knocked over.”

London police told AP that seven officers received cuts, bruises and other minor injuries during the incident in the duty free shop. According to the witness, the police ‘seemed to be intimidated by Snoop's security, which all are between 6'5 and 6'9.”

The rapper has been released from jail Thursday without being charged, and was scheduled to fly to Johannesburg South Africa, where he was due to perform. The concert he was set to give Thursday will be rescheduled but others set for the weekend will go on as planned, AP reports.

Snoop’s attorney, Peter Binning, said Snoop will return to London “at a later date,” but neither Binning nor police would provide further details of his release, nor disclose the amount of money posted for his bail.
