THE HUTCHINSON REPORT: Jesse Jackson 'Exposed'Give Your Thoughts About Judicial Watch's Bitter Attack on Jesse Jackson(July 6, 2006)
In June, the conservative legal group, Judicial Watch, in a wide ranging report, called Jackson a charlatan, shakedown artist, and race baiter. Read Judicial Watch’s Report Excerpts:
* Jackson lobbied the Federal Communications Commission to prevent media companies seeking government approval to merge until they donate money to Jackson’s Rainbow/Push. * Jackson publicly chastised Toyota for running an ad Jackson deemed “racist.” Even after Toyota pulled the ad, Jackson threatened a boycott against Toyota to force the company to launch a $7.8 billion “diversity program.” * Jackson installed one of his friends, J.L. Armstrong, in a management position at Toyota to determine which “organizations” would receive $700 million in contracts awarded by Toyota. * Minority businesses pay Jackson’s “Trade Bureau” a fee to help extort lucrative contracts from corporations. Jackson interjected the Bible when he compared his Trade Bureau to “Noah’s Ark,” boasting that minority businesses and organizations had to be inside the “ark” to survive. The Rev. Jesse Jackson’s latest target is the oil giant British Petroleum in his high-dollar shakedown, according to the National Legal and Policy Center. Despite the fact that BP was a “Bronze Sponsor” of the Coalition’s 35th annual conference held in Chicago, Jackson announced that he was returning the company’s $10,000 donation as part of a boycott to demand greater minority involvement in the corporation’s business practices. A century and a half ago, the towering abolitionist and civil rights fighter, Frederick Douglass asked "What is the Fourth of July to Black Americans?" Douglass bitterly denounced slavery, American racism and hypocrisy. What is your answer to his question today?
