      *Actor Ving Rhames has signed on to star in the upcoming remake of the 1985 classic horror film, “Day of the Dead.” The film is the third installment of George A. Romero's "Night of the Living Dead” series. Rhames also starred in the 2004 remake of Romero’s part II, “Dawn of the Dead.”

      In addition to Rhames, Nick Cannon, Mena Suvarui, and others will join up to help fight off zombies. Steve Miner (Halloween H20, Friday the 13th, Part 2, 3D) is set to direct.

      *What Rob Thomas did for Santana, “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson hopes Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Jon Bon Jovi, and Fantasia will do for soul legend Sam “Soul Man” Moore. Jackson is taking the reigns on producing a new CD with the soulster, half of the legendary group Sam & Dave.
