RUMORS OF STAR JONES/AL REYNOLDS DIVORCE REFUTED: BV Buzz columnist Murray talks to divorce lawyer at center of hubbub.(July 25, 2006)
*AOL Black Voices columnist Jawn Murray got some exclusive scoop on the marriage of Star Jones Reynolds and Al Scales Reynolds in light of recent rumors that a divorce was looming. According to his latest BV Buzz, a friend of the couple said the rumors that originated on the online blog Media Take Out are “completely fabricated works of fiction because face it, Star is hot right now." Media Take Out had reported that Al "visited the offices of the divorce law firm Blank Rome LLP in New York's Chrysler Building" and spent two hours there before attempting to "quietly sneak out of the building. But before he could leave, [a] witness tells MediaTakeOut.com, 'I walked up to him and said, 'Al, is that you', and Al ran out of the building-almost knocking over a pregnant woman." Blank Rome attorney Stanford Lotwin issued the following statement to Murray regarding Media Take Out's claims: "The recent media reports are categorically false. I have not met with Al Reynolds nor has any attorney in my office. Any reports to the contrary are unsubstantiated," said Lotwin. In other Star news, the former prosecutor reportedly left her mark at a July 4 party thrown in the Hamptons. According to New York Daily News gossip columnist Ben Widdicombe, the ousted “View” co-host wore body makeup to the shindig thrown by entertainment reporter Claudia Cohen and ended up staining two of Cohen’s rented white couches. The company reportedly sent Cohen a dry-cleaning bill for $1,500. A source told Widdicombe that Star was most likely the culprit because she was "very heavily, professionally made up." However, the source also said it's possible that the stains came from someone else at the party wearing a lot of self-tanner that hadn't set yet. Speak Out
