BILL CLINTON RECOGNIZES JAKES’ 30TH ANNIVERSARY IN MINISTRY AT MEGAFEST: Three years of Megafest marks 30 years in ministry for Jakes

Responding to the call to ministry at the age 19, Bishop T.D. Jakes is celebrating 30 years in ministry. Through a pre-recorded video address, former Pres. Bill Clinton congratulated Bishop TD Jakes at Megafest.

Clinton acknowledged Jakes for serving as a powerful example of faith to those in his community, across the land and across the world. He especially appreciated the Bishop for his efforts “to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina and to rebuild the churches and their ability to minister to their flocks.”

(Jakes is an ex-member of a panel of prominent preachers who served on a panel to help determine funds disbursement to Katrina survivors from a government program. Along with several others, Jakes quit after their ideas recommendations were ignored.

Clinton, who is known to have affection toward African American culture also stated that he is inspired by Bishop Jake’s televised program.
