LIL’ KIM PREPS ‘LOCKDOWN 2’: Also, rapper sets up temporary business headquarters and gets serious about her future.(August 2, 2006)
*Lil’ Kim has a lot in common with Michael Scofield of the Fox series “Prison Break.” Both left jail before their sentence was up, and both are dealing with second seasons of hit television shows that make their respective titles misleading. “Prison Break” begins later this month with Scofield and company on the lam, thus rendering the title passé. Lil’ Kim, fresh out of jail on perjury charges, is busy editing footage for a second season of her BET reality series “Countdown to Lockdown,” even though both the “countdown” and “lockdown” parts are over. According to her attorney, Londell McMillan, Kim has been busy overseeing footage of the second season, which apparently will show her homecoming and the weeks immediately following her release last month. Born Kimberly Jones, the Brooklyn rapper has set up headquarters at McMillan’s midtown offices, where she is “getting her personal, spiritual and business life together” and “developing her business interests,” McMillan tells the New York Daily News. It includes the 32-year-old going through a "Harvard Business School-like training" so she can take charge of her future, as well as the search for a new record deal and the establishment of the Lil’ Kim Cares initiative to assist convicts with life after prison. "She wants to help them get re-acclimated because they will need jobs, shelter and the basics," McMillan said. Kim’s 30-day house arrest following a 10-month stay at the Philadelphia Federal Detention Center comes to an end tomorrow (8/3). Speak Out
