*Janet Jackson’s boobs are out again, this time for the cover of Vibe magazine. Recalling an earlier Vibe cover with two hands cupping her breasts from behind, Janet does the covering herself for the new issue, which features her standing in the ocean, in a very skimpy bikini, with her arm covering up the essentials. In the article, Jackson again tries to put the Super Bowl incident to rest. “It's just over and done with. It's old. It's the past. It's history. I'm onto something new. Everybody got their licks in — those who wanted to — and it's done," she says. Her new album, "20 Y.O.," is slated for release Sept. 26. The new Vibe issue hits newsstands on Aug. 15.

*Monica’s long-awaited J Records album, “The Makings of Me,” will finally be released on Sept. 19.  The follow-up to 2003's platinum-selling “After the Storm” features the Jermaine Dupri-produced first single, “"Everytime Tha Beat Drop," featuring fellow ATL-iens Dem Franchize Boyz. "I've watched Monica, now 24, develop and grow since she was 14," states Clive Davis, Chairman and CEO, BMG U.S. "She's now at the absolute peak of her career. Her new album has at least four or five hot singles and she's setting new styles as a cutting edge trend-maker for the industry." Other tracks on the album include “Sideline Ho,” “My Everything,” “Hell No” featuring Twista, “Thanks for Tha Misery” and the Missy Elliott-produced “A Dozen Roses,” “Gotta Move On” and “Doin’ Me Right.”

*The birthday of jazz legend Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong was celebrated in his hometown of New Orleans Sunday with a jazz mass at St. Augustine Catholic Church near the French Quarter. The service began with a call to prayer for musicians who have not yet made it home following Hurricane Katrina. "It's terrible right now because all of the musicians are scattered around the United States," 91-year-old trumpeter Lionel Ferbos, who had met Armstrong, told Reuters. Morgan Clevenger, founder of the New Orleans Jazz Legacy Foundation, said the city had begun to appreciate Armstrong in the last few years but needed to work harder to preserve his legacy. "I celebrate Louis Armstrong any day of the week," she said.

*Elite City Entertainment introduces Los Angeles to one of Hollywood’s emerging young talents, Armèl, the artist who co-wrote, sang and performed the song, “Do You Really Know” in the 2004 film “The Fighting Temptations.” Armèl will perform songs from his EP “Love 101” on Thursday (8/08) at the Henry Fonda Theatre/Music Box (6126 Hollywood Blvd.).
