CUBA GOODING JR. LITERALLY MONITORS KIDS: Plus, director of his latest film had initial reservations about his casting.
*Cuba Gooding Jr. has revealed that he uses the closed circuit security monitors in his house to also keep an eye on his kids.
“I have cameras everywhere because; to ask the kids what happened... they never know. Now, I've got the little sucker on tape,” Contact Music quoted him as saying.
The actor is currently starring in the film “Shadowboxer,” where he plays the stepson of a dying hit-woman. The film’s director, Lee Daniels, admits he had reservations about hiring Gooding in light of his Hollywood resume. In addition to his Oscar-winning turn in “Jerry Maguire,” he also starred in such films as “Snow Dogs and Boat Trip.”
"With Cuba, something wasn't sitting right with me but I remembered him in 'Boyz N the Hood' That's when I saw the truth and went for him,” Daniels said, according to TMZ.com. “[With this film], I think he's gangsta. I think he's thug. I think he's honest and good. And I think he's back."
