One of the most vivid scenes in the movie “Ray” (for which Jamie Fox won an Academy Award for his starring role), was when as a child he began to lose his sight.

When placing the salve the rural doctor prescribed on her son’s mucous encrusted eyes, Ray’s mother’s hope was fading as his vision rapidly deteriorated.

Faced with the vices of poverty and racism and primitive medical care her disposition was understandable. Watching her exercise fortitude and tough love through held back tears as she came to accept that her son would never see again was painstaking.

Fast forward to 2006: another mother’s heart is hurting for her little boy.  His name is Dion Anderson, who this year was diagnosed with a condition called Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a neurological disorder akin to the late Ray Charles’.

The Make A Wish Foundation and True Worship Ministries are rays of light for Dion, “A Wish Kid.”  The mission of MWF is to “grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.”  In addition to having three days jam-packed with prominent gospel artists and ministers teaching to lead others into the presence of God, Lance Williams and True Worship Ministries’ True Worship Worship Retreat 2006 has committed to contributing $10,000 to the MWF to benefit both the organization and to assist Dion’s family with medical expenses.

Dion’s condition is now in a degenerative state.  Within this year, he has lost his sight and is rapidly losing his speech and is expected to lose his hearing and motor functions.

Join Lance Williams and the True Worship Retreat in accommodating this desperate need.

The Lance Williams and the True Worship Retreat, takes place on September 7-9, 2006.
