ATL'S 12TH ANNUAL GOSPEL CHOICE AWARDS: Gladys Knight and 10 distinguished pastors are among honorees; Sheryl Lee Ralph to co-host(August 30, 2006)
On September 18 at the Georgia International Convention Center-Ballroom Kroger & Pepsi will recognize this year’s eight Gospel Choice Award winners and honor ten of Atlanta’s most distinguished Pastors at The 12th Annual Atlanta Gospel Choice Awards. The theme is “A Vision for Gospel’s Future.”
Hosted by Atlanta’s own radio personality Reggie Gay of WCLK 91.9 FM and Sheryl Lee Ralph (Actress / Singer), eight awards will be handed out at the black tie affair will in the following categories: Who will win the titles of: Best Choir/Director, Best Duo/Group Ensemble, Best Youth Choir, Best New Artist, Best Female Vocalist, Best Male Vocalist, Best in Holy Hip-Hop, and Song of the Year. The Legendary Ms. Gladys Knight will be this year’s recipient of the prestigious "Ray Charles Visionary Award" for Lifetime Achievement. Ten Pastors of impact and influence who were chosen as this year's honorees: Pastor Benjamin Gaither -Pastor of Stronghold Christian Church. Gospel recording artist Tony Terry, along with the soulful stirrings of singer Alyson Williams, and internationally recognized artist Edward "Young Dirty" Long (Bishop Eddie Long's son), the Jackson Southernaires, A-7, J4J, The Scott family (The Xscape sisters) featuring Randolph Scott and daughter Taneshia Scott, Word of Faith Cathedral Mass Choir and others will offer foot stomping entertainment.
