*Oprah Winfrey put in a personal phone call to the Kansas City man who is pushing for the mogul to make a 2008 presidential run.

"She got right to the bottom line," retired Kansas City math teacher Patrick Crowe told The New York Post. "She said 'Well, I just want to let you know, I'm not going to do it.'"

Crowe said Winfrey’s words will not discourage him from continuing his campaign or holding out hope that she will reconsider.

"Her tone was calm and peaceful - not at all angry," Crowe said. "She thanked me for what I've been doing."

Oprah urged Crowe to redirect his support toward Illinois Sen. Barack Obama. Crowe replied that Obama "should be considered for a place in Oprah's cabinet." Winfrey reportedly laughed and suggested that Crowe read Obama's latest book, "Audacity of Hope" and said she planned to send him a copy.
