KANYE WEST HISSY FIT A PRANK?: Sources tell New York Post his griping at European Music Awards appeared staged.

*After a weekend of heavy media and Internet buzz surrounding the ill behavior of Kanye West at Thursday’s MTV European Music Awards, sources are telling the New York Post’s Page Six that the rapper-producer may have staged the entire episode to play off of his cocky image.

As previously reported, West got an attitude after his clip for “Touch the Sky” lost in the category of “Best Video.” He jumped onstage when the winning band, Justice vs. Simian, were accepting their award. He proceeded to shout and curse, “Hell no!” and said his video should’ve won because it cost $1 million and starred Pamela Anderson.

Reps for West declined to comment if the whole thing was an inside joke between West and the winners, but sources tell Page Six that the two acts were joking around with each other backstage and “they all ‘crashed’ a press event together after the show.”

Here's video from the event. See for yourself if Kanye's tantrum is staged or not:
