*Music World Music Entertainment President and CEO Mathew Knowles and the Survivor Foundation surprised the orchestra at Beverly Hills Intermediate (BHI) in Houston with a $40,000 check, which will help fund its efforts to attend one of the most prestigious band and orchestra music events in the country, Mid-West. "Words do not express the immeasurable feeling felt resulting from the gift of giving," says Knowles. "To be able to inspire and help fulfill the dream of such an exquisite group of talented young people is invaluable. The director is 20-year-old Joseph Ariola, a member of the New York City Operating Engineer local 15 Union. “Coalition” is based on police trying to infiltrate a corrupt organization known as Survival of the Black Man, a group that attempts to control the local construction industry. Raekwon plays the role of Akey, and also co-produced the soundtrack, which features Fat Joe and fellow Wu members RZA and Method Man. Game said in a statement. *Hidden Beach Recordings (HBR) and Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD), a division of Universal Music Group, the world's leading music company, have entered into a distribution agreement that calls for UMGD to distribute the independent record label's product throughout North America and covers all HBR's subsidiaries such as the Hidden Beach Celebrations Series, Hidden Beach International, and Still Waters, the label's inspirational imprint. The first offering under the new partnership was the October 17 release of TribalJazz, the multi-cultural jazz group led by former Doors member John Densmore. Scottie Beats, was shot and killed last month as he confronted the person or people who were towing his car. The 36-year-old and his wife were at their home on a cul-de-sac in Prince George’s County, MD at about 2:30 a.m. when his Chrysler 300 was suddenly being towed from the front of his house. Investigators had not determined whether the tow truck operator was attempting to steal Brown's car or to repossess it. "He was the man," said local radio personality DJ Flexx, of WPGC (95.5 FM) to the Washington Post. "He understood all the music in D.C., from go-go to hip-hop. He was one of the best studio engineers in the area. Everybody wanted him on their projects because they knew if he worked on it, it would be special."Speak Out
