      *The Writers Guild of America has filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board against the producers of “America’s Next Top Model,” claiming they broke the law by eliminating 12 positions previously held by some striking writer-producers. In a charge filed Monday, the WGA seeks reinstatement and back pay for the strikers, who walked out in July in a bid to join the guild.

      *Forest Whitaker and Will Smith will be honored at the 22nd annual Santa Barbara Intl. Film Festival, which is scheduled to run Jan. 25 through Feb. 4. Whitaker, who currently stars in "The Last King of Scotland," will be given the American Riviera Award while Smith, star of the upcoming “The Pursuit of Happyness,” will receive the Modern Master Award. In addition, Al Gore and director Davis Guggenheim will receive the Attenborough Award for excellence in nature filmmaking for their global warming documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth."

      *OutKast’s film “Idlewild” will arrive on DVD Dec. 5 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The disc comes with two exclusive music videos from OutKast, plus a song that was cut from the film and an additional deleted scene. The platinum-selling duo lead an all-star cast that includes Terrence Howard ("Hustle & Flow"), Ving Rhames (the "Mission Impossible" series), Faizon Love ("Elf"), Malinda Williams ("Soul Food"), Tony Award winner Ben Vereen ("Why Do Fools Fall In Love") and Oscar® nominee and Emmy® winner Cicely Tyson ("Fried Green Tomatoes"), Paula Patton ("Deja Vu," "Hitch") as well as musical superstars Patti LaBelle and Macy Gray.

      *Rosario Dawson and her man Jason Lewis (Smith from “Sex and the City) are rumored to be broken up. According to WENN, the actress was overheard at a New York restaurant telling a friend she had to fly to Los Angeles and clear out her belongings from their Hollywood home.

      *Hollywood comes to Bed-Stuy with the Brooklyn-based film project "Da Stuy," a drama about a pastor fighting for his life and his soul when his world collides with a young hustler trying to make a living on the streets of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The film stars Def Jam recording artist, Raheim a.k.a Rah Dolla, and introduces music from new soul artist Luv Jones.   The project was shot entirely in Bed Stuy, stars actors from the borough and is written/directed and executive produced by Bed-Stuy-native Joe Grant. On Nov. 18, Brooklyn's Steiner Studios will host a celebration and VIP Screening of the project at its new state-of-the-art facility in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. “Da Stuy” will be the first African American project to make use of the Steiner Studio screening and event space and will also be the first project from the community to screen there.

      *Actor/comedian Donnell Rawlings, a.k.a. Ashy from Egypt and Ashy in the morning on NY’s Power105.1 FM, got his armpits waxed live on the air after losing a bet by failing to deliver a mistake-free sports segment. Someone had a video camera rolling and captured the waxing in its entirety, even as neighbor Whoopi Goldberg and her radio show staff ran in to see for themselves.       *African-American comedian Buddy Lewis is attempting to become the next “Wandering Golfer” for the Fine Living TV network.   If he wins, Buddy would become host of the television program, “The Wandering Golfer,” as well as travel around the world to play at some of the most beautiful and notable golf courses.  "As the next Wandering Golfer, I would have the greatest alibi in the world for going to play golf…hey baby, it's my job!"
