FILM/TV BITS: ‘Dancing’ in March; Murphy/Rock on screen; Biel and Jeter?; Smiths in Rome; Rodriguez and Loken?; ‘Noah’s Arc’ en Francais;(November 17, 2006)
*ABC has scheduled its fourth round of “Dancing With The Stars to begin in March. A time slot has yet to be determined. Wednesday night, former NFL star Emmitt Smith beat actor Mario Lopez to become the season three champ. *Brett Ratner is set to direct Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock in an untitled heist drama penned by "Inside Man" writer Russell Gewirtz, reports Variety. The thriller follows a pair of janitors at Trump Tower who plan a robbery which will allow them to rip off the building's tenants. News of the project first surfaced in July 2005. *Word has it that actress Jessica Biel, who starred opposite Wesley Snipes in “Blade: Trinity,” is currently dating New York Yankees star Derek Jeter. The pair was spotted together at Los Angeles club Hyde. *Rome’s Ciampino airport is the new hotspot as the world’s biggest celebrities have begun arriving there in advance of Tom Cruise’s Saturday wedding to Katie Holmes. So far, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have landed, as have Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony. Some 500 people are expected to attend the ceremony at a medieval castle in the lakeside town of Bracciano, around 25 miles north of the Italian capital. *Actress Michelle Rodriguez, last seen in the ABC drama “Lost” and in mug shots for a traffic violation in Hawaii, is rumored to be dating “Terminator 3” actress Kristanna Loken, who co-starred with M-Rod in the 2005 movie “BloodRayne.” Interviewed by gay magazine The Advocate, Loken was asked about reports that the two hooked up during the shoot. According to the magazine, she laughed and took a deep breath before replying, "There is the $64,000 question. Um...I don't even know how to answer that." She was then asked if the two had fun partying together, Loken replied, "Uh-huh," while smiling slyly. When the interviewer said her silence "said volumes," the actress replied, "Just don't look upstairs, OK?" *“Noah’s Arc” (MTV Logo Network) may not be signed for a third season here in the States yet, but the show is scheduled to premiere on the French television network Pink TV in January. There are talks in the works to bring the series to the UK network "E4" in 2007 as well. In addition, on Saturday (Nov. 18), the Forum Des Images Paris, also known as the Paris Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, will hold a special screening of the first three episodes of the series. Season one of “Noah’s Arc” is available now in stores nationwide, with season two coming this winter. Speak Out
