*Martin Lawrence, who played a talk radio host on his old Fox sitcom, will head to familiar territory in his next film, Universal Pictures’ “The Better Man,” reports Variety. The comedy, directed by Malcolm Lee, will star the actor as a single father who has made it big as a syndicated shock jock. When he returns home to attend the 50th anniversary of his parents with his famous fiancee, he begins to question his path in life. "There's emotion and pathos here that give Martin a chance to display more layers than usual," Lee told Variety. Lawrence just wrapped production on “Wild Hogs” with Tim Allen and John Travolta and voiced a character in the animated hit "Open Season." As previously reported, he will serve as the executive producer of a standup comedy series for Starz that has a 10-episode commitment.
