WNBA’S LISA LESLIE IS PREGNANT: First child for Los Angeles Sparks center and husband due in June.
*WNBA teams will have one less thing to worry about when they face the Los Angeles Sparks. The team’s star center, Lisa Leslie will not participate in the upcoming season because she is pregnant.
The 34-year-old three-time WNBA MVP told the Associated press that she is expecting her first child in June with husband Michael Lockwood.
While they do not know the baby’s sex, Leslie says the pregnancy has been a breeze so far. "I've been working out," she told the AP. "I haven't been sick."
Lockwood, 41, is a former Air Force basketball player. He married the 6’5” Inglewood, Calif. native in November 2005 in Maui.
Despite having to sit out the upcoming 2007 WNBA season, Leslie said: "I will be cheering my teammates on."
