ITTY BITTY BITS: Eminem on New Year’s Eve; Mays, Black Barons to be honored; Xtina gifts Diddy twins; De La Hoya on ‘Lopez’; TEENick premiere’s Lil' JJ.

      *Under the banner “Shady New Year," rapper Eminem will spend New Year's Eve counting down his 25 favorite hip-hop tracks on his Sirius Satellite Radio channel Shade 45. The special will broadcast Dec. 31, from 8 to 10 p.m. ET, and will be re-broadcast at 10 p.m. ET, and again on New Year's Day, January 1 at 12 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET.  For more information, visit http://www.sirius.com/shade45.

      *Willie Mays and the Birmingham Black Barons are among the baseball greats to be honored at the Professional Baseball Scouts Foundation's 4th Annual “In the Spirit of the Game” event Saturday, Jan. 6 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA. The annual gathering – which brings together America's top business executives, celebrities and the entertainment industry – has raised over $750,000 to help scouts in financial need.

      *Diddy’s newborn twin girls received a big gift from Auntie Christina Aguilera. According to TMZ, the pop singer bought more than $1000 worth of baby items at boutique Petit Tresor and had them sent to the rap mogul’s New York spot. The gift basket reportedly included frog slippers, hand-embroidered clothing sets, musical teddy bears, pink cherry shoes, chenille pillows, mobiles, and leather diaper bags, which retail for $340 each.

      *Boxer Oscar De La Hoya has signed on to play a trash-talking doctor in an episode of ABC's comedy series "George Lopez." The episode’s airdate has not yet been announced. The show’s season premiere is scheduled for Jan. 24. On May 5, the Golden Boy will tend to his day job and defend his junior middleweight championship belt against welterweight champ "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather Jr. The fight will air on HBO pay-per-view.     

      *Nickelodeon will ring in the New Year with the TEENick series premiere of “Just Jordan” -- Sunday, Jan. 7 (7:30-8:30 p.m. ET/PT) -- starring breakout teen comedian/actor Lil' JJ in a multi-generational, half-hour comedy based on his standup routine. Back-to-back episodes mark the special one-hour launch of the sitcom centering on outspoken, ultra-confident ninth grader Jordan Lewis, who pipes up about kid inequalities while navigating a new life in Los Angeles. The program will air regularly, Sundays, 7:30-8 p.m. (ET/PT) during TEENick.
