DVD BITS: ‘Jeffersons’ season 6; ‘24’ season 6 premiere; ‘George Lopez’ seasons 1 and 2.
*The complete sixth season of “The Jeffersons” will be available in a three-disc DVD set on March 27 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. In the set’s 24 digitally remastered episodes, George and Weezy become grandparents when Lionel and Jenny have a baby girl. Florence joins a dating service when her biological clock begins to tick, Weezie sees a costumed assailant commit a murder on Halloween and then becomes his intended victim, and George receives an award as a small business owner – only it’s for his stature, not his business acumen. A spin-off of the wildly successful “All in the Family,” The Jeffersons debuted as a CBS mid-season replacement on January 18, 1975.
*In case you missed the two-day, four-hour season premiere of Fox’s “24” on Sunday and Monday, all four episodes are now available in a special DVD package from Fox Home Entertainment. Retailing for $14.98, the “24: Season Six Premiere DVD” also comes with an exclusive sneak preview featuring the never-before-seen first 12 minutes of what's in store for Jack Bauer in Episode Five - one week before it airs on television.
*Coming to DVD this spring is “George Lopez: the Complete First and Second Seasons.” The four-disc collector's set – complete with 28 episodes, as well as exclusive bonus material – is due on April 17, which also serves as the current season finale.
