      *Speaking before the Motion Picture Association of America in Washington D.C. Tuesday, Oscar nominee Will Smith told the crowd about a funny thing that had happened to him earlier in the day. An older couple approached him and said, "We love what you're doing. You're so great for the country!" Smith responded: "Thank you!" But when the man said, "And we'll be sure to vote for you,” Smith realized that he was being mistaken for Sen. Barack Obama.

      *Actor Brian White will join Gabrielle Union in the ABC comedy pilot “Football Wives,” based on the British series “Footballers Wive$.” White will play the wide receiver fiancé of Union’s character, Chardonnay Lane.

      *Word has it that David Letterman had originally wanted Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell to appear with him in the 10-second Super Bowl promo for his talk show, but Trump refused to be in the same room with his famous antagonist. Enter Letterman’s former foe Oprah Winfrey, who ended up doing the spot.

      *This must be the season for spitting the N-word before amateur video cameras. Cuba Gooding Jr. follows the current craze sparked by Michael Richards and carried on by Andy Dick, Anthony Michael Hall and Paris Hilton.  While leaving Butter nightclub in New York Monday night, Gooding told the gathered paparazzi, “Many times, people say, ‘N*ggas don’t like the cold.’” He then looks in the camera and says, “That’s right, I said it.”  See for yourself here.
