*The new rumor on the Whitney/Ray-J front is that she dumped the 26-year-old in the wake of his sex tape scandal with ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian.
According to veteran Hollywood columnist Janet Charlton, the 43-year-old singer lost her mind after finding out footage of the tape leaked onto the Internet and broke off their fling.
Meanwhile, Fox411 columnist Roger Friedman is reporting that Houston’s comeback album for Arista won’t start making money until old debts with the label are paid off.
Friedman writes: “Whitney Houston never did get the full $100 million that she negotiated with Arista Records for six years ago. Houston, I'm told, got about $20 million up front on a contract Arista Records gave her thanks to then-president L.A. Reid. But when Reid left for Island/Def Jam, and Houston's consequent album failed to sell, Sony BMG took over the contract and cancelled it.
“If Houston does make a comeback album now with Clive Davis — and Davis may well pull this off — Houston will only be paid for the recording and expenses. Otherwise, I'm told the coffers are empty for her.”
