TAMIA, GRANT HILL EXPECTING SECOND BABY: Also, Wizards star Gilbert Arenas witnesses birth of first son in Oakland.(March 19, 2007)
*The NBA is awash with baby news. Grant Hill of the Orlando Magic and his wife, singer Tamia, are expecting their second child, while Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas made a 24-hour trip to Oakland on Friday to witness the birth of his first son. Tamia, 31, used her MySpace page to announce her pregnancy. She wrote: “Warning! Listening to my hit single “Can’t Get Enough” may result in…pregnancy!!! Grant and I are expecting!!! …Yes, the rumors are true!!! And you heard it here first.” The singer, four months along, told People: "I'm happy that the secret is out because it was getting very difficult to hide it. I performed yesterday and I caught a glimpse of myself in a reflection and I thought, 'Oh no, I'm going to have to talk about this.’" Tamia says Grant, 34, is "thrilled" about the new baby and daughter Myla, 5, looks forward to being "the coolest big sister ever." Grant Hill & Tamia Despite her 2003 diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, Tamia says she feels "fine." "The baby is healthy, everything is great," she adds. Meanwhile, the Wizards’ Agent Zero was excused from practice last Friday to make the cross country trip for the birth of his second child and first son, Alijah Amani Arenas. "It's great," Arenas told the Washington Post in a telephone interview. "I even have a nickname for him: Triple A." The 25-year-old NBA star, who also has a 14-month-old daughter named Izela, was back in D.C. in time for a Saturday game against the New Orleans Hornets. Arenas scored 30 points and had 11 assists to lead the team to a 125-103 victory and sole possession of first place in the Southeast Division.
