NICOLE RICHIE CALLS FAINTING REPORTS OVERBLOWN: Celebrity says she spent all of 10 minutes in the hospital.
*Nicole Richie, recently diagnosed with hypoglycemia, is reportedly embarrassed about all the hoopla surrounding her widely-reported fainting incidents on the set of her show, “The Simple Life.”
As previously reported, the daughter of singer Lionel Richie was taken to the hospital earlier this month after passing out on the set. Nicole, however, says that incident was blown way out of proportion by the media.
"It actually made me really upset because I did not need to go to the hospital at all... I was just tired, and I left after 10 minutes," she told OK! Weekly magazine, explaining that her fainting spell was due to a lack of food in her stomach.
"I hadn't eaten breakfast yet and I asked for a bowl of cereal, but when you're on a big set it has to go through 15 people to even get to me,” she said. “I walked outside and I just wasn't feeling like myself. There wasn't an on-set doctor, so instead they took me to a hospital. There was absolutely nothing wrong with me."
